Master programme, initiated by FIFA, coordinated by CIES, and taught by three prestigious European universities: De Montfort University (Leicester, UK), SDA Bocconi School of Management (Milan, IT) and Neuchatel University (Neuchatel, CH), in association with the Università della Svizzera italiana.

Today, the University of the West Indies (UWI) is the largest and most longstanding higher education provider in the English-speaking Caribbean, with main campuses in Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. UWI also has an Open Campus, a virtual campus with over 50 physical site locations across the region, serving more than 20 countries in the English-speaking Caribbean. The UWI Sport and Physical Education Centre (UWI SPEC) is the 'centre' in Caribbean, for Sport and Physical Education development, training and research. Located at the St Augustine Campus in Trinidad and Tobago, SPEC has a combined 34,000-plus square feet of indoor space, with seating capacity for 1360 people, as well as outdoor facilities for cricket, tennis, rugby, soccer and track and field, which are second to none across the region. The University’s offering of sport-related undergraduate degree programmes include Sport and Tourism Management, Sport Management, Coaching and Physical Education. In 2009, UWI St Augustine and the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) signed an agreement to collaboratively design and deliver a postgraduate Sport Management programme for the English-speaking Caribbean countries in Trinidad & Tobago.

CIES (International Centre for Sports Studies), located in Neuchatel, is a private Swiss foundation, affiliated with the University of Neuchatel and created in 1995 by FIFA (under the impetus of its current president, Mr. Joseph S. Blatter), the University of Neuchatel, and the City and Canton of Neuchatel.

CIES specialises in three specific domains: law, sociology and economy of sport, with a view to bring together the sporting and the academic worlds. Privileging a pluri-disciplinary approach, CIES provides a wide range of research, education and consultancy services.
